Editor:
I am starting to question if Chilliwack is on the list of worst drivers for pedestrians.
I have recently moved to Charles Street and my son goes to Chilliwack senior.
Every day my son crosses at First and Charles. Every day I watch out the window praying my son is going to make it across safe. In my opinion, First Avenue is one of the busiest streets in Chilliwack.
There are a good number of junior and senior high school students crossing at this intersection every day. One day my son stood on the corner of First and Charles waiting for someone to stop to let him cross and I had counted about 10 cars all together that hadn't stopped as my son stood there waiting.
Not only are some of the drivers speeding but I can see people glare at my son standing there as they drive by because I have a good view from where I stay. Recently this is where a girl got struck.
So what is it going to take for some of you drivers to slow down and maybe show a little curtious and let the pedestrians cross? My concern is not only for my son but other students who use this crosswalk. For those who do take the time to stop, thank you.
