I just had to comment on the butcher job done to the trees lining College Street and on the property of Chilliwack Central school.
I can understand the need for "trimming" trees that begin to grow into hydro and telephone wires; however, the job done on these trees appears to have been a complete butcher job with no thought whatsoever as to the trees aesthetic value or health.
Beautiful trees add so much to the beauty of our community. What a sad thing that the City of Chilliwack obviously doesn't think this way. All one has to do is take a look at the once beautiful tree standing on the corner of Mellard and Young with a massive quarter chunk of the tree now missing. Sad.
