Get cultural & celebrate local arts in Chilliwack
Come out and celebrate Chilliwack’s art community with The Chilliwack Cultural Centre’s sixth anniversary and Cultural Collaboration on Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join some of The Society’s fantastic partners; The Chilliwack Players Guild, Chilliwack Academy of Music, Chilliwack Visual Artists Association, Chilliwack School of Performing Arts, and many more organizations that will be showcasing their specialties at the The Centre. They will be providing information about all the wonderful ways to get involved with arts in Chilliwack.
Take a walk through the Art Studios to see beautiful pieces being created right before your eyes, stroll over to the Rotary Hall Studio Theatre and take in spectacular local talent as they perform everything from dance to theatre, and be sure to check out the Artist Village where artists and artisans will have their gorgeous work displayed and will be there to explain how they achieve their craft.
The kid-favourite annual treasure hunt is back. So grab a passport for the younger ones to get stamped as they explore The Centre and receive a prize when it is full. CSOPA and The Chilliwack Music Academy will also have information booths letting you know what programs they have available for kids.
Information about the The Society’s afterschool art classes for kids will also be available, from Magic Mud to Stopmotion Animation, there is something to let any child’s imagination run wild. You can even sign them up right on the spot at The Centre Box Office.
After all that discovering and exploring, one is bound to work up an appetite. Stop by the hot dog stand located out front of The Centre or indulge in some complimentary cake and refreshments available inside.
