It’s the Chilliwack Cultural Centre’s sixth anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than a concert featuring none other than Chilliwack.

This legendary group will be taking the stage to perform some of their greatest hit songs and rock the Hub International Theatre on Oct. 1. It’s a great way to kick off the exciting 2016-17 season with this high-energy, sold-out show.

The classic rock band Chilliwack, with 19 Canadian singles and 11 released albums (four of which went Canadian certified platinum), are known for their many smash hits, such as “Fly At Night,”“My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone),” and “Lonesome Mary.”

Once labeled by Rolling Stone magazine as “The finest Canadian rock band,” Chilliwack has had immense success on both Canadian and American radio charts, including The Billboard Hot 100. From psychedelic, progressive and country rock to adult contemporary and pop rock, the band has a wonderfully unique and diverse sound, complemented by its members incredible vocal skills.

The band formed in 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is currently made up of lead guitarist and vocalist Bill Henderson, Ed Henderson on guitar and background vocals, Doug Edwards on bass and background vocals, and Jerry Adolphe on drums.

People often wonder where the band got the name Chilliwack. And while we know it is the same name as the city of Chilliwack, it meant something much more to them.

“At that time in 1970 our music had picked up certain West Coast native influences. We liked the sound of the word itself—the meaning of Chilliwack as we understood it—‘valley of many streams,’ and ‘going back up’—appealed to us,” Henderson said.

This performance will be the first of the The Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society’s 2016/2017 presentation season, and will be an incredible, thrilling, high-energy night. It’s an event that every classic rock lover needs to experience.
