The sacred and inspirational songs of Elvis will be performed by Chilliwack’s own Steve Elliott Dec. 16 at the Sardis Community Church. Frozen in song

Craft & comedy night
A craft and comedy night will be held Dec. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 8871 School St. This is an all-ages event with tickets costing $10. Paint a holiday decoration or gift (supplies provided) and learn from Kara-Lyn Loewen, who lives with Down syndrome and drew by hand and published a 56-page adult colouring book. Then, get entertained by Stand Up for Mental Health comedian Kim Van Dyk. It will be a fun, inspiring night for people of all ages looking to de-stress from the holidays, laugh a little, and meet new people.

The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association’s last show of 2016 is a group show called Artist’s Choice. The CVAA has chosen a title, instead of a theme. This gives the artists a much freer choice, and the ability to display something already painted, carved, sculpted or photographed. Artist’s Choice runs until Jan. 7, Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society holds its Annual Jigsaw Puzzles Sale in the Sardis Library. Bring your gently used puzzles in January to the Sardis Library during working hours. Coupons for the half price will only be issued at the new location. Sardis Library is located at 5819 Tyson Road (building between the Twin Rinks and Mt Slesse Middle School). Larger room will make selection easier and the parking is also much bigger. Puzzle sale dates are Feb. 3 and 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
