'Snail' stole the show for him

With the production of A Year With Frog and Toad the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts has done it again.

We saw the final full dress rehearsal last Thursday night and it was wonderful. This is a very large, very complex production with a very large cast of very talented young people between the ages of 12 and 17.

"Snail" stole the show for me. I haven't laughed so hard in years. I didn't think it was possible for a human being to "snail walk" that slowly.

The young actresses who played "Frog" and "Toad" were outstanding. These were demanding roles and the singing, dancing and gymnastics were simply outstanding.

I shouldn't single out individuals in this production as they were all extremely good.

The set itself was a work of art and an engineering miracle. It was worth the price of admission just to see the set. The costume designs were so appropriate to the theme and contributed in a meaningful way to the overall wonder of the play. I was also quite impressed with the special effects which were handled so well.

The play is running at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre until Jan. 22. This is a production well worth seeing and is fun for all ages.
