Recording artist Al Stewart ("The Year of the Cat") will host a Gala Charity Event at Minter Gardens near Chilliwack on Sept. 7.

All proceeds will help support the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society whose mission is to offer free educational facilities and preserve the "at risk" Great Blue Heron species.

The society hosts an intimate concert and elegant dinner at the Conservatory at Minter Gardens, a 32-acre world-class show garden. There is room for only 200 guests. Dress and atmosphere is casual and relaxed

Cocktails at 6 p.m. Dinner at 7 p.m., with the concert at 8 p.m..
