Annie

The Chilliwack School of Performing Arts presents Annie continues with evening performances at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Jan. 17, 18, 19 at 7: 30 p.m. Matinee performances at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 20. UFV theatre

The second production of the University of the Fraser Valley theatre department's 2012/13 season is the bittersweet tragicomedy Ernestine Shuswap Gets Her Trout, by award-winning First Nations playwright Tomson Highway. The play continues in the theatre on the old Chilliwack north campus at Yale and Airport roads. Regular performances are Jan. 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 at 7: 30 p.m., with matinees Jan. 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 21 at noon. Ticket prices range between $10 to $22. The Jan. 20 matinee is a special pay-what-you-can performance with a recommended minimum price of only $10. Graphics Guild

The Chambers Gallery at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.) hosts an exhibit produced by the Central Fraser Valley Graphics Guild until Feb. 21. The gallery is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m.

PMS at Chances Pardon My Striptease's Andrew Christopher and Dylan Weightman are at Chances Chilliwack Jan. 25 from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Visions of Three

The next show at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Gallery is Visions of Three, featuring the paintings and drawings of artist and teacher John Leflock and two of his past students, Robyn MacRae and Pat Duncan. The art includes airbrushing along with other traditional and modern techniques. Show runs until March 2 in the gallery at 9201 Cor-bould St. Open Wednesdays through Saturdays, from noon to 5 p.m. Opening reception is Jan. 19 from 1 to 3p.m.

Comedy back

Side-splitting comedy returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre's main theatre when The Ultimate Comedy Show 2 comes to entertain Chilliwack on Jan. 26 at 7: 30 p.m. This show will likely sell out as it was a huge hit last year and is hosted once again by Roman Danylo. Annie Lou

Fresh on the heels of two Canadian Folk Music nominations and chart-topping radio play with her new album Grandma's Rules for Drinking, Annie Lou brings original string band music on her CD release tour to the Harrison Memorial Hall, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased by phone at 604-796-3664, online at www. harrisonfestival.com or in person at the Ranger Station Art Gallery in Harrison, or Agassiz Shoppers Drug Mart.

Acoustic jams

Country acoustic jam sessions every Saturday at the Chilliwack Seniors Recreation Centre located at 9400 College St. starting at 7 to 11 p.m. All musicians and friends are welcome. Bring your own instrument. Members $3 and non-members $5. For further information contact Rod or Marnie 604-792-1168.

Colin Linden

One third of folk rock super-group Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, Colin Linden, kicks off the 2013 concert series at Bozzini's Upstairs with two solo shows on Feb. 1. (Late show sold out.)
