The BC Jobs Fair is coming to Pitt Meadows to promote current job opportunities, career trends and skills training - with the addition of a new Skills4BC booth. The fair will be at Pitt Meadows Arena Complex on Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FLU SEASON HITS HARD
Fraser Health's chief medical health officer Dr. Paul Van Buynder has declared the current level of flu virus circulating within Fraser Health communities a health hazard under the provisions of the Public Health Act. Nineteen Fraser Health residential, long-term care facilities have reported influenza outbreaks already this year. All people attending a residential care or assisted living facility who have not received a flu shot this year, including staff, volunteers, and visitors, will be required to wear a mask and practice stringent hand hygiene.

MEAT PLANT IN COURT
Pitt Meadows Meats was in Port Coquitlam provincial court Tuesday facing 11 counts of "selling articles of food unfit for human consumption," according to court records. They will be back in court on Feb. 4 to fix a date for a trial.
