The most important meal of the day will get some special attention in Chilliwack this week thanks to the Chilliwack Hospital and Health Care Foundation (CHHCF).
The foundation is hosting a breakfast fundraiser at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel Wednesday (Dec. 5) to raise money for a new children's health program in local schools.
Dubbed the Give the Gift of Health Breakfast, the event will feature a healthy breakfast buffet and live entertainment by the Blendurz and Desmond Devnich, hosted by Trevor MacDonald. Cancer survivor Glenda Standeven, co-author of Choosing to Smile, will give a keynote address.
Local teachers are encouraged to arrive by 7: 30 a.m. to learn more about CHHCF's plan for the new children's health program that will be introduced in schools in January.
Information about the program will be provided at 8: 30 a.m., and Glenda Standeven will speak at 9 a.m.
The Give the Gift of Health Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 a.m. Dec. 5 at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel. Tickets will be sold at the door for a donation of $10 or more.
