The Chilliwack Players Guild presents 'Tis the Season: A Christmas Show for the Whole Family starting Nov. 30.
This one-act fun-filled variety show, which will have you laughing, tapping your toes and maybe even singing along, will get everyone in the holiday spirit with lots of skits and songs for the young and the young at heart.
A group of strangers bound for Edmonton are trapped in the Chilliwack Airport on Christmas Eve. The story centres around two, tight-knit family units who get to know each other as the night wears on.
Grams (Nancy Arnold), motherin-law to widower Peter (Richard Ogilvie) and grandmother to technology obsessed Max (Cruise Hurley), is the driving force behind keeping everyone in the Christmas sprit, despite their unfortunate circumstances. They meet up with Helen (Lara McQueen) and Chantelle (Jewel Hand), a single mom and her bookish daughter. As the evening wears on, new friendships (and maybe even a romance or two) blossom.
'Tis the Season is an original work that features Christmas stories by classic authors A.A. Milne and William Dean Howells. You'll hear some familiar Christmas tunes and some fresh seasonal songs as well. From mischievous Christmas sprits to hilarious melodrama and heartwarming performances, 'Tis the Season offers something for every family member to enjoy.
'Tis the Season opens Nov. 30 with a gala night, featuring free pictures with Santa Claus and pre-show snacks. The show runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. A family or group of four is $40. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Cultural Centre box office at 604391-SHOW (7469).
