Popular Chilliwack restaurant destroyed in weekend blaze

The Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP are investigating a fire that completely destroyed the Bavaria House Restaurant Saturday morning.

The popular German restaurant on Luckakuck Way was fully involved and the fire spreading to adjacent buildings by the time firefighters arrived at about 1:16 a.m.

Crews from fire halls 1, 4 and 6 managed to contain the blaze, but the restaurant was completely destroyed and adjacent commercial units sustained extensive water and smoke damage.

No one was injured.
