Performing Arts BC (PABC) announced this week that Chilliwack will be home to the provincial finals for dance, music and speech arts in May of 2013.

During the last week of May, over 450 participants-the best of the best in their disciplines-and their families will gather in Chilliwack to compete and hone their talents. The event will bring unique opportunities to local associations, businesses and individuals to contribute to helping Chilliwack shine as a bright spot for the performing arts, tourism, local shopping and community spirit.

This is a significant and prestigious event for the local arts and culture scene. The local committee has purposely focused activities at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre in order to showcase the facility to the rest of the province.

In total, 1,500 visitors are expected to visit the city and spend close to $400,000 during that week. The PABC local committee is actively seeking donors, sponsors and volunteers to ensure the event is a resounding success.
