I agree with Claude Latulippe. Can you imagine an honorary colonel for a regiment that sent many members to Afghanistan; members who endured serious injury and death and now have to live with this appointment of Chuck Strahl being their Honorary colonel? The same person who was in the Conservative cabinet that passed the new Veterans Act and, as Claude wrote, "turned a blind eye to the plight of veterans in Parliament and in his riding."

I hope that the New Westminster Regiment does all it can to deny this appointment.

I know that I, as a veteran of 26 years in the Royal Canadian Engineers, that appointment dishonours that service.
