Almost 800 local children, youth and adults "counted themselves in" for the fourth annual Chilliwack City-Wide Literacy Challenge last month.

Every year organizers challenge local residents to read 20 minutes a day for 21 days.

This year 41 local businesses and organization got involved and a total of 794 ballots were turned in and entered for draws to win prizes.

Throughout the last couple weeks, winners have been dropping by the Times offices to pick up their hard-earned loot. ? For more information about this event, contact literacy outreach coordinator Debbie Denault at 604-392-2404 or debbied@chilliwacklearning. com or visit www.chilliwacklearning.com.
