Hoping to lure more concerts and events, the owners of the Prospera Centre have purchased a concert stage.
Prospera Centre CEO Glen Ringdal announced Monday that the Centre has purchased a "state-of-the-art" stage suitable for almost any kind of event.
The 17-metre-by-12-metre AS2100 stage system gives the arena the flexibility and ease-of-handling that is perfect for this venue, according to Ringdal, who added that Chilliwack citizens have been waiting for Prospera to obtain the equipment necessary to attract concerts and events.
Last summer 1,000 cushioned chairs were purchased for floor events and the facility already has backstage curtaining.
"With the stage we are fully equipped to compete with other venues in the valley," Ringdal said. "I have already begun to speak with promoters to let them know we are ready, willing and able."
Ringdal added that he is looking for feedback as to what type of events, artist sor productions people would like to see. Send in ideas to chilliwack@prosperacentre.com.
