Mounties are asking for help finding a missing Chilliwack woman.

Laverne Hazel Vetters, 53, was last seen Nov. 7 at 9:30 p.m. She has never gone missing before and a friend told police that "it is highly unusual that she would not return to her home for over a week."

Her dog was also left at her Sardis home.

Vetter has since missed health care appointments and has not taken required medication since going missing, police say.

She does not have a vehicle, but is frequently seen riding her bicycle around the south side of Chilliwack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 604-792-4611.
