Whether you want to eat pancakes, hit the ice, take a dip or jump around in an air-filled castle, Chilliwack residents will have plenty of ways to celebrate their province's first-ever Family Day on Monday.
The Chilliwack Family YMCA is hosting a pancake breakfast Monday. There will also be games, face painting and a bouncy castle between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
On the other side of town, in Sardis, Twin Rinks is hosting free family skating and providing free skate rentals between 3: 15 and 4: 45 p.m. And parents can swim for free at the Cheam or Chilliwack Landing leisure centres all day Monday.
The provincial government has provided funds for those events.
Elsewhere in Chilliwack, the 6th Chilliwack Scouts also host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the Chilliwack United Church Hall on Yale Road. Cost is $5 for all the fixings with money going to help send the troop to the Canadian Scout Jamboree held in July in Alberta.
