UFV theatre

The University of the Fraser Valley theatre department's production of Ernestine Shuswap Gets Her Trout, by award-winning First Nations playwright Tomson Highway, continues in the theatre on the old Chilliwack north campus at Yale and Airport roads with performances Jan. 24, 25 and 26 at 7: 30 p.m., with a matinee Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices range between $10 to $22. Graphics Guild

The Chambers Gallery at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.) hosts an exhibit produced by the Central Fraser Valley Graphics Guild until Feb. 21. The gallery is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m.

PMS at Chances

Pardon My Striptease's Andrew Christopher and Dylan Weightman are at Chances Chilliwack Jan. 25 from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Visions of Three

The next show at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Gallery is Visions of Three, featuring the paintings and drawings of artist and teacher John Leflock and two of his past students, Robyn MacRae and Pat Duncan. The art includes airbrushing along with other traditional and modern techniques. Show runs to March 2 in the gallery, at 9201 Cor-bould St. Open Wednesdays through Saturdays, from noon to 5 p.m.

Comedy back

Side-splitting comedy returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre's main theatre when The Ultimate Comedy Show 2 comes to entertain Chilliwack on Jan. 26 at 7: 30 p.m. This show will likely sell out as it was a huge hit last year and is hosted once again by Roman Danylo. Annie Lou

Acoustic jams

Open mic

CIVL Radio at the University of the Fraser Valley presents open mic at Aftermath Social House at the Abbotsford campus. Join Birds of Canada host Adam Roper on the second Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. and at kickoff night on Jan. 30. Acts such as spoken word, comedy, music and poetry are welcome to perform on stage.

Theatre festival auditions

The University of The Fraser Valley (UFV) theatre department will hold open auditions for its 18th annual Directors' Theatre Festival Feb. 5 at 7 pm. in the theatre in Building D, on the Chilliwack North campus. Local community performers, male and female between the ages of 18 and 70, are invited to attend these auditions. Please arrive by 6.45 p.m. to allow for time to fill in an audition form. The Directors' Theatre Festival is a five day, fringe-style event showcasing some of the best young theatre talent in B.C., featuring directors, performers and writers from UFV and other university and college theatre programs. Music with Heart

Don't miss Music with Heart: Ukuleles and Valentines with the fast-fingers of some of the most renowned ukulele players in Canada.
