Long-time Tourism Chilliwack executive director Brian Coombes has been named the new president of the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO).
Coombes was chosen after "an intensive search process" that included candidates from across the country.
Coombes succeeds John Jansen who will remain with CEPCO as a special projects manager.
Chilliwack born and raised, Coombes served for 14 years at the helm of Tourism Chilliwack. Currently, he sits on the Board of Vancouver Coast and Mountains Tourism Region and the Board of the British Columbia Destination Marketing Organization Association.
"We look forward to working with Mr. Coombes, who we know can provide the leadership skills necessary to lead a dynamic organization such as CEPCO," board chair Trevin Rogers said in a press release. "John Jansen will remain with CEPCO to assist in the transition and to focus on CEPCO's special projects."
