No confusion over string pulling

Editor:

I guess it's pretty evident now who the provincial Liberals really are. What, with Chuck Strahl bringing in his ex-chief of staff to seek the nomination for the so-called Liberal Party.

Anyone who was confused about who has been pulling the political strings for the provincial Liberals can stop wondering now. Although most reasonably lucid people would have figured that out after the HST debacle.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. I can only imagine that it went something like this: "But Steve I already told them it was not on my radar, and the election is just weeks away, but geez we could sure use that money, what with the Olympics, Gateway and all. It could be the end of my political career.

"Look Gordo, the bottom line is no HST, no moolah.

And don't worry about your political career. I got a great spot opening up in London for you. Pays more money and hell, you could come back in four years and run as a federal Conservative."

We do not have a Liberal Party in this province, and we should be thankful for that, however we now have a small "c" conservative party and I believe we have an honourable candidate in John Martin, and I also believe that John Cummins is a straight shooter who can be trusted to do what is right for the province and not be led by the nose by Steven Harper's federal Conservatives like Campbell and Clark.
