Fire officials are again warning the public to take care in the kitchen after a burning pot of oil triggered an apartment building's sprinklers Thursday afternoon.
Assistant fire chief Ian Josephson said a man forgot about a pot of oil on his stove with the element on high. The oil ignited and the pot was moved to the sink, but it flared again when flour was thrown on the pot.
The sprinkler in the man's Edward Street unit activated, and the man was able to escape uninjured.
