The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has one person in custody related to the death a 14-month-old Chilliwack baby girl.
Emergency services attended a medical distress call on Friday night around 10 p.m. at a Chilliwack residence in the Promontory area.
The baby was taken to the hospital and attempts were made to revive her but she was pronounced dead around 11 p.m.
IHIT has taken over the investigation as foul play is suspected due to the suspicious nature of the baby's death.
The person in custody has not yet been charged in the death.
The IHIT will not be providing any further information about the person at this time.
"Foul play is suspected, however, an autopsy will be required to determine the cause of death," said IHIT Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
