No illusion over small 'c' label

Editor:

I read with a chuckle Mr. Harrington's letter in the Jan 19 edition of the Times (Mouthpieces for corporate B.C.).

The 1990s were known as the decade of destruction when the NDP was in power. The decade following, will go down in history as the decade of deceit with all the mistrust and lies told by the B.C. Liberals.

If any two parties have anything in common it would be the NDP and the Liberals with their collective taxandspend policies. In fact, some refer to them as the NDP and the NDP lite.

A vote now for the NDP would be a step back in time to that decade and a chance for them to make even a bigger mess than they did then.

The B.C. Conservatives, on the other hand, with policies like axe the gas tax are a true Conservative Party who stick up for the common working person.

Big business does not fund the BC Conservative party. Donors to that party are average people $50 to $100 here and there. That sounds more like the average working man to me.

I will agree with Mr. Harrington on one point though, the premier is trying to create an illusion that they are a Conservative party but as anybody knows who follows politics in B.C., she herself is a federal Liberal. But then old style political parties do that when they see new common sense options in the rear view mirror. Much like Mr. Harrington is doing for his NDP .
