Two drivers and a young boy were shaken but uninjured after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Vedder and South Sumas roads in Chilliwack Thursday.
The head-on collision between a dump truck and an SUV happened around noon. The incident prompted police to shut down southbound traffic for a couple hours from Stevenson to South Sumas and restrict northbound traffic to one lane.
The driver of the dump truck told the Times he was shaken by the incident and he was thankful his truck had no load or, he said, it would have been worse.
The accident occurred after the northbound SUV driver tried to turn left on South Sumas, did not see the oncoming dump truck and collided in the middle of the intersection, according to one witness.
Paramedics on the scene attended to the woman and her young boy, both of whom appeared to be uninjured.
