An angel walks amongst us

Editor:

Recently, we went to grocery shopping at PriceSmart as we have done daily for some 20 years now.

My elderly husband picked up a basket, offered me his arm and with cane in my right hand we started down the aisles. When we had our list completed my husband chose the most likely checkout counter, began loading our groceries on the belt.

Turning to me he said:

"We forgot the whipping cream! Hurry up and run and get it!"

Run indeed! At 90 years of age I cannot hurry and run is out of the question. After half a dozen steps an angel was beside me, offering her arm and said that she would help me. As we "hurried" I told her that I wanted to bake some Martha Stewart scones and needed the cream. She asked me my name. I told her it is Gladys. She said her name was Catharine or was it Kathleen, I'm not sure.

As she opened the cream cabinet she said she would now run with it. I made my way to the end of the aisle, turned on the main drag and saw her waving her arms at the end of the right checkout. She made it.

Now she walked back towards me, interrupted my grateful thank you's and hugged me. What a wonderful girl. I want everyone to know that a very kind and thoughtful angel walks amongst us.
