Home ice advantage wasn't enough to help the Chilliwack rink of Lisa Deputan advance to the 2012 Scotties BC Women's Curling Championships.

The Chilliwack Curling Club hosted the last of four open qualifying events for the B.C. Scotties last weekend.

Deputan, third Brittany McAulay, second Erin Light and lead Kayleigh Alendal lost both their games during the event.

Marilou Richter's Richmond rink defeated Langley's Leanne Andrews in the A Event final to advance to the B.C. Championship. Andrews then fell 9-8 to Marla Mallett and her Royal City rink in the B Event final. Mallett and Richter will face off against eight other rinks, including those skipped by former world champion Kelly Scott and Kelley Law at the 2012 championships at the North Shore Winter Club in January.
