The Sardis secondary senior boys basketball team is headed to the provincial championships for the first time in its 80year history.
And they're doing it on a four-game winning streak.
The Falcons earned a provincial berth by defeating Lord Tweedsmuir in a do-or-die game at the Fraser Valley Championships last Thursday.
Grade 11 stars Eric Rogers and Hayden Lejeune led the Sardis offence with 27 points and 17 points, respectively.
Grade 12 Devin Brandreth also put up 13 big points and "played like it could have been his last game," according to Falcons coach Kyle Graves.
Sardis beat Terry Fox 85-69 the next day and on Saturday took some sweet revenge on Enver Creek, who had beaten them earlier in the tournament, winning 70-58.
Lejeune won second team all-star honours for his performance at the tournament, and the Falcons' fifth-place finish earned them the eighth seed at the 20-team BC Boys AAA Basketball Championships, which starts at the Langley Events Centre next week.
Sardis tips off its first-ever provincial run against Burnaby South at 8: 30 a.m. March 13.
A win would earn them a quarter-final matchup on Thursday at 8 p.m.
