Doug Marshall's Chilliwack rink finds itself in a battle for third place midway through the 2012 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Sudbury, Ont.
Marshall, along with third Lisa Deputan, second Darren Jarvis and lead Janet Klebe are representing British Columbia at the event.
The foursome scored a key win in extra ends Monday morning against Chris Sutherland's Nova Scotia rink.
Marshall jumped out to an early 5-2 lead, but Sutherland rallied, tying the game at six in the 10th end. But with the hammer in extra ends, Marshall made no mistake and scored a simple pair to extend his team's record to three wins and two losses.
New Brunswick leads the way with five wins and a loss, with three other teams at 4-1. Marshall, meanwhile, finds himself in a battle at the centre of the table.
Klebe is leading the way for the Chilliwack rink. Her 83 per cent success rate has her tied for first among all leads at the contest. As a team, the locals are curling at a respectable 73 per cent and sit in the middle of the pack.
After curling Monday night against Manitoba (results not available at press time), Marshall and company were due to square off against Alberta and Newfoundland Tuesday.
Round robin play wraps up Friday morning, with Marshall and company playing their final game Thursday night. Playoffs begin Friday evening, with the final set for Saturday.
