Royal City Curling Club rinks swept all three qualifying spots up for grabs at last weekend's Lower Mainland Play-downs at the Chilliwack Curling Club. Royal City's Sean Geall rink beat Jay Wakefield out to claim top spot in the A Qualifier in a battle of two Royal City teams. Wakefield, along with Ken McArdle, also won spots at the BC Championships at the Playdowns.

Three Chilliwack teams took part in the playdowns, with Dale Hockley's rink faring the best. Hockley reached the semifinals of two of the three qualifying brackets but came up just short.

Todd Leighton and Allan Vanderveen skipped the other two Chilliwack rinks.
