Nearly eight years after Tammy Penner was last seen, Mounties are again trying to learn what happened to the Chilliwack women.

Penner was last seen in January of 2005. She contacted her sister in August of that year, but her family hasn't heard from her since.

"This has left us so unsettled, not knowing if there is something we can do to help her," Penner's step-sister Kelly Wdowiak said in an RCMP media release. "We just want to know one way or another if she is still with us. We need that closure."

Penner was born in 1963, making her about 42 years old when she was last seen. She would be 50 now.

She goes by several names, police say, including Tammy Glendinning, Kim McLean, Kim Eileen Glendinning, Tammy Berston, Tammy Eliason and Kim Penner.

Penner is described as five-foot-seven and of slim build, with medium brown hair and blue eyes. She has several tattoos including a male/female sign on her right upper arm, a black jaguar on her upper left shoulder, and a half moon on her abdomen.

Mounties hope there will someone who knows about Penner's disappearance will come forward.

"There may be people who, for whatever reason, were not willing to speak to police in the past that will now," said RCMP spokesperson Tracy Wolbeck.

"If somebody knows something about the whereabouts of Tammy Penner, we want them to know that we are certainly here to listen," added Insp. Grant Wilson. "The Chilliwack RCMP need the assistance of the public to solve Tammy's disappearance."
