A Chilliwack man has been charged with the attempted murder of his roommate.

Mounties say they responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 46700 block of Yale Rd. on Jan. 14 just before midnight.

Upon arriving, police found and arrested a man who they allege assaulted his roommate, a 47-year-old woman.

The woman remains in hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to RCMP.

Matthew David Alderman, 24, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. He remains in custody pending a court appearance on Jan. 29.
