Chilliwack Heritage Park has three new fans, thanks to the federal government.

The government contributed $16,691 from its Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) to help Tourism Chilliwack put the fans in the facility's roof.

In addition, Tourism Chilliwack also installed louver venting and replaced a window. The new fans were put to full use last weekend during an arenacross motorcycle event attended by hundreds of fans of another sort.

"This funding will also enhance the quality of air, providing an improved environment for our staff, clients and the folks who attend the numerous functions each year," Chilliwack Heritage Park Committee chair Brian Minter said in a government press release. "Heritage Park is the centrepiece of community and commercial events for the City of Chilliwack and the federal contribution toward upgrading the ventilation and air flow systems will open new opportunities."

CIIF supports, on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure accessible to the public. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is delivering the Fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
